DayTime Running Lights ?
Hey Guys
I am a new member on the G35Driver Forum. I am preparing to import my g35 from the States in to Vancouver BC and I am having problems finding a DIY guide on installing the "day time running light" kit from Canadian tire.
I have read a few threads and everyone seems to get them installed professionally. I didn’t want to spend $200+ on labor so I am trying to figure out how to install it myself. I haven’t picked up the kit yet but it cost about 40+ taxes. I am sure there are directions but people have said that it differs on each car and it is not as straight forward as they have written.
Does anyone know where I can find a good DIY or even any suggestions on where to get it installed for cheap.
Let me know
Thanks

When I imported my G from the states, my friend just installed the DRL's. I believe he tapped into an ignition wire and ran it through a small relay to my parking light wire so whenever the car ignition was on, the DRL's would be on. I passed the inspection, and just unhooked it after so I actually don't have DRL's anymore so I couldn't check where its wired anymore. Took him about 45 minutes at a cost of about $2 to $5.

Hey Ameen
I actually did this to my eclipse to pass inspection and then took it off after. But because I spent a lot of money on this car I want to make sure everything is legit and I am pretty sure you can get a VI ticket for not having running day lights. It is a good suggestion though.
Thanks

I will create a DIY for the Canadian tire DRL module. I just did it last night... I'm not going to take my bumper off again but I can take pics on how to wire it for a quick and easy pass of the test.
I plan on just taking mine out after I finish my provincial but this could easily be a permanent solution for anyone that wants to properly mount the module near the battery.
