Project Swivelhips near completion.

At last years Alberta meet Swivel had his hood up and I thought myself damn that plenum looks horrible he has his cover off due to having a plenum spacer. So I offered to polish the upper plenum I have sitting in my garage. I was thinking if it worked out I could offer a little polishing service to local guys. Well it is close to being done, i was hoping Swivel would come down and finish it I hate the damn thing at this point . I realized I don't like polishing things that are not going on my car I have poor tools and do 90% of it by hand so it is long and drawn out. Any way here is how it progressed I might need a little more sanding but I am going to try to buff it into spec I know with proper tools (air tools) it wouldn't be bad but by hand it is painstaking......Swivel you had better cut a hole in your hood to show this thing off and I was thinking about melting down the 350z cover I have for you in my garage For the most part it wasn't that bad...if I get the results I wanted I am fairly picky and I won't know if its worth it or not till its done, anyway i hope Wayne enjoys it.

Starting out

Some sanding with my cordless drill.

Starting to get the casting all sanded off

I missed pictures of most of the hand sanding due to much of the work was done while I was staying away from home this winter.

Near the end but still needs lots of buffing maybe a little wet sanding

Just about there

I started working on it in the fall but to to an unexpected work load I didn't have the time I had hoped for originally but I spent two weeks sitting on a rig site and I spent most of my free time watching PBTV and polishing ...i worked on the plenum a bit as well

I know Wayne likes surprises for everyone so I hope you didn't plan on keep this under wraps!!!

Still waiting on a couple things, I'm dying though. Should be on the road Saturday morning and I couldn't be more excited, but it was supposed to be Thursday by the latest before the carbon guy dragged his ***!
