By now, I'm sure most of us are aware the new Blackberry 9800 Torch will be available Sept 24th with Bell, Telus and Rogers, although there are rumours of a delay on Rogers.
My questions for you are:
- Will you be getting one ASAP?
- If not, why?
- If so, what 3 features intrigue you most about the new BBRY?
I appreciate all your comments and opinions regarding this new BBRY 9800.
...and PLEASE, I don't want to hear about any other smartphones. We all know what else is out there and how good they are. The comparison has been beat to death.
Edit: new release date Oct 1st
Edit: newer release date TBA, maybe Oct 1

1. capacitive screen (no 'surepress' crap like the Storm...no offence Storm Owners)
2. slider
3. OS6 (sure you can put it on your 9700 but not many can including me with my 8830)
4. WebKit browser
5. anything at all from its looks, media player, Social Feeds
I dont think the 9700 has a touch screen, same memory and slider so it's not "exactly the same" now is it.
I was curious what my G35 bros opinions on it are.

Just signed a new contract w/ Telus, and will be getting the Torch when it comes out on the 24th.
Best of both worlds (touch/physical keyboard), new OS.
Only concern I have is that the keyboard might be too small for my hands
Torch does not have the wow effect it once had on me, especially when it comes to the pricing, iphone4/droid are much better phones so I don't get why they priced it the same.
Only reason why I’m getting it is b/c I need to retire IMO the best BB ever made 8830 World Edition, this phone has never dropped in price since it came out.

^ I really like my 8830 a lot too! It's been great and never let me down in 2 years. I think it's still the best looking BBRY. My only complaint with it is that it is severely lacking in the internal memory dept.
I dont think the keyboard size should be an issue. The Torch dimensions (when closed) are almost identical to the 8830 so I think the keyboard should be similar in size.
I believe the 9700 is still the best 'traditional' BBRY. We have a lot of them in our company.
I am due for an upgrade (through work) so I will switch to the Torch.
Coming from the 8830, it's going to be a big improvement. Those with the 9700 (and a few others) can simply upgrade to OS6 if they want although it still won't be the same as running OS6 on the touch screen Torch.

+1 on that I to have the 9700, alot of my co-workers, friends and family have BB's so the BBM is a great feature.

Something that is an "real" improvement over what they've been doing the last 4 years. Nothing has changed.
