Lest we forget

A big thank you to all of our serving military and veterans for your effort and commitment to our country and citizens.

A special thanks to all those who were injured or paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Amen to that Deane.
All our thoughts go to those that serve or have served our Country.

My Dad was a POW captured at Dieppe. He bore those scars the rest of his life, but never complained or talked about it.

I believe that this is the first remembrance day that we no longer have any Canadian WW1 vets.

Thanks for posting that Deane and a BIG +1 to your post!

I went to our local Cenotaph this morning for a ceremony and it's something that I never miss each year. Like Ian mentioned, we owe them a HUGE amount of gratitude. I am also glad that this day has not turned into a sales holiday like it has in the US. Truly sad IMHO.

Definitely appreciate everything the vets and current military personnel for everything they do on a daily basis! Sometimes we can take what we have for granted so its nice to have a reminder of who we have to thank for how our country is.

We had almost an hour assembly at school. You could hear a pin drop through most of it. Our population is almost 50% new immigrants and we're all thankful for those who put it all on the line for freedom.

I went to our service at the cenotaph in Dartmouth this morning. Definitely the largest crowd I've seen. Every year attendance grows.

Remembrance Day is a stat holiday here in the Maritimes.
