Street Racers lose their cars - Ferrari and M6

Today's police are just a bunch of tax collectors, not that I condone street or "stunt" racing...

Impounding at those speed in those conditions isn't exactly unfair. I wouldve thrown the book at them. Not just once, but a few times.

IDK how this could be equated to tax collection.
These asshats deserve to have their toys taken away.

125mph in a 60 is pretty over the top. I wonder if they had a choice? Like 12 months in prison or get your car impounded.

the driver gets 30% of the price of the car and the 2nd owner gets 50% thats 70% back...so they can easily go out and buy another one...they pretty much just bought the car from them...

I think a more effective way to deal with this would have been to give them a record, not selling off their cars. Perhaps impound them for a month then give them the bill plus said charge and a big fine. But that hundred + grand for the province probably sounded too sweet.

Confiscating property for traffic violations I bullish!t. Fine them whatever amount, jail them for however long or revoke their rights to drive, but the government has overstepped their authority.

I dunno about you guys I'd rather lose my precious vehicle than be some bodies bitch in jail for 3 months.

Having said that. You can by a new ferrari but you can't buy a new a$shole. Losing these cars don't get anything accomplished. The driver doesn't learn a lesson nor are our streets any safer.

Heavy fines and jail time is more appropriate for a government to do than taking your property. Its basically an encroachment upon your civil rights, see Fifth Amendment. If you Canadians allowed your legislature to write that in I feel sorry for you.

Don't feel sorry for us, I think we are quite happy with our civil rights.

Perhaps you might feel different if one of these azzhats killed your wife, your son, your daughter....etc. I have ZERO issue with their cars being taken away from them as they obviously have complete disregard for pubic safety.

If they just got away with having their cars taken away, they still have their freedom to do the same thing again.
