The news showed pictures of Parlee Beach in Shediac and also the sand dunes and boardwalk in Bouctouche. Both beaches have been completely devastated with the beaches and boardwalk completely washed away.
Karen and I saw those pics also Shane. Looked much different from the summer when we were there. The amount of devastation is horrible.

Did you also see the shots of the cottages and boats on Brule Shore in Barrachois Harbour on The National last night? That is the harbour our property is on and the marina/wharf and damaged cottages are directly across from us. We are probably going up on the 26th to see what happened.

It's a real shame to see such devastation to beautiful places like Shediac (special for us with the G meets)

It's sad to see all that damage.
It must be heartbreaking for everyone in the area.

That sounds horrible, Shane. Hope all gets fixed up.

My mom really wants snow tires for the Altima. Dad says no the car is fine. I search some for her, and my sisters fiance is telling me to get cheapo 'Goodride' tires that I thought seemed expensive. Found some Falken Espiza tires or whatever, and they were pretty reasonable. $356 shipped. Sister's fiance is like "just get two for the front" and I am like "but the rear end slips out terribly on that car. traction in the front isn't going to help if shes going sideways into the ditch" and they go into the whole "it is a lease. Why are you spending money on a lease" and im just shaking my head thinking that I would prefer to do things properly and make it as safe as possible for my mom who is freaked out enough when shes driving the car.

Unbelievable. My dad is like, anti buying tires so we will see. The thing literally doesn't move. In an inch tonight, i couldn't even hardly get through an intersection. It is horrible!

Well you have learned that you can't go cheap when you are talking safety. You are right Janik, the car must have 4 snow tires or none, you cannot put them on one end only, it is unsafe..

The other thing people fail to consider is the mileage saved on the summer tires.
It often makes the difference of returning the lease w/o buying a new set of summers.

win/win!

^I said we can also re-sell the tires when we are done. And I mean honestly, can you put a price on safety? My dad actually admitted to the guy at the Porsche dealer yesterday that "He sure didn't believe what kind of difference snow tires made until he saw them on his sons G35"

Made me fell good.

Tell your Dad to take the Vette out in the snow and see how he likes it, as far as safety goes..

There's a few small flurries out there now....tiny glimmer of hope for some with a white Christmas. Not likely though.

Getting kind of tired of all this wind for 3 straight days now though.

Have some of our snow. We seemed to be getting 4+" a week average with one 17" storm and one 11" storm.

Yeah, this will be our 4th stormy Monday in a row with this one being our first snow storm. Forecasts are calling for 30cms, but we'll see.
