Just got back from a few days at the in laws who live right VERY close to the water on Chaleur Bay- roughly 30 foot from high water mark. The wind and high tide made for quite a show looking out their window Monday night. Waves were hitting the first of their 2 breakwaters and sending serious spray onto the dining room windows periodically. We ended up with about 4 inches of water in the basement but only a fraction of the 2 feet they had a few weeks earlier in the really big storm. Sump pumps were still running hard when we left this morning. There was 41 cms of snow along with that mess that my wife and I cleared.

Got home a few hours ago to 21 cms of snow that was followed by 59 mms of rain. It left a hard crusty mess with about 5cms of hard ice underneath about 20% of my drive, since I wasn't able to get at it before freezing solid. Not really fun trying to clear (reduce) the mess.

^ Ugh, what a real mess Deane. We got the high winds here as well and I think we ended up with about 30cms of wet snow between Monday and yesterday. The forecast looks great with above zero temps for the next four days, so that is good.

Definitely sounds nasty there, Deane. It's chilly here, -15, but I'll take it!

You guys out East have really had it bad. Hope it warms up a bit so you can tackle the ice underneath the snow. It's turned warmer here and I can see my driveway this morning. GL

Yeah, looks like a nice melt for both of us over the weekend.

My first report was from Bathurst, NB. Here it's fine. We have about 2-3 inches of snow on the ground and that will likely be gone with temps well into the +'s this weekend.

Thanks. We've actually had it pretty easy right here other than some extra rain a few weeks ago.

How bout this Albertan weather? Wind is pretty wicked. I woke up to a perfectly clear driveway, but over 2 feet of snow covering my walkway!

Ive been driving from the nw to airdrie, crossfield house hunting all weekend and honestly, the biggest problem i can see is the retards on the roads! Any major route is completely clear with snow blowing accross and not sticking, but people are flying off the roads left right and center. I was doing 120 on hwy 2 north and couldnt lose traction (fairly sporty all seasons) if i tried and this moron drives off the right shoulder into a two foot snow drift. I was able to aggressively swerve a lane over and seemed to stick like glue. Wtf is wrong with these people???

...and for all the dire predictions of traffic snarls (today's news), the roads were in fine condition...

Getting hit with a huge snow storm at the moment. We have a good 20-25cms down right now and another 15cms overnight. I was just out to get some gas for my snowblower and it's near whiteout conditions. It was my first time driving the Edge in any real amount of snow......must say it worked pretty darn good.

Good to hear about the Edge. The Alti works OK but it's no X.

We got hit pretty good too. Wonder what the rest of the winter will bring...

My Alti was a bull in the winter, haven't had much of a chance to take the X out in the snow much.

Deane, not sure what the official total amount was, but I am guessing 40-45cms. It didn't start until late afternoon and was done before midnight so it came down really hard and really fast.
