Official Canadian Weather Thread

Since it's typically a topic of constant discussion, I figured I'd make an official weather thread for all of us Canucks. There's been a few different major weather headlines lately with all of the snow in the London, ON area as well as the severe flooding about an hour away from me in St. Stephen, NB.

Snow wise, I don't think we've had a total of 5cms yet this winter. Temps have been very mild as well with significant rainfall amounts. If our winter is anything like last year, I will be very happy.

Yeah, great idea. There's sure to be more climatic drama to come!

We had maybe 6-7 cms but with some melted already and rain with +6 coming tomorrow it's bye bye.

Great idea Shane.
At my place I have been shovelling or blowing out the driveway at least once/day since we returned from London Hospital just over a week ago.
It's nice though, I always prefer a white Christmas.

I got to use my Icon wipers yesterday in about 3 minutes of rain we got... It's about 5-8 degrees on average- dipping down to about 0 to -1 at night. People look at me funny with my "winter" coat on from Fort McMurray... it's essentially a parka. People around here have never even seen one.

It's taking a little getting used to but I doubt you'll be seeing any of our weather online.

I ask myself why I put up with this weather every winter. But, "the grass is always greener" I guess. Just doesn't seem like there is any sort of happy medium anywhere. You almost only have the choice of 2 of 3 - Economy, Democracy, Weather. Or whatever your priorities...

Tues, wed, and thurs should be mild here. Cant complain about that nearing the end of December.

^ true that bro, for example we got nice weather here in Vancouver, was nice and sunny today, but everything is sooooooo effin expensive , to live in this city and I mean really live, not paycheck to paycheck stuff, you gotta be pullin in no less than $30 an hour full time.

I think about Vancouver often, but I'm afraid of losing what i have now and i'l end up living on the street there. Seems like thats what Europe deals with. Decent weather and social systems are good, but $2-$3/L of gas and $6/lb potatoes makes for tight month ends.

Looks like more rain on the way as we are supposed to get heavy rain and high winds for tomorrow and Wednesday. This is exactly what St. Stephen needed.

Oh wow More rain could add more to the already devastating effects it has already done.
How is the river been behind your place Shane? You are high and dry but I bet that river was flowing pretty good.

Like Swivel said, I would also take snow and cold over constant rain any day.

The river is extremely high Wayne. You would almost think it's spring time here with how high the water levels are.

That doesn't sound too nice Shane.

We've had a nice reprieve lately with temps between -5° and -10°C,
and a break from the snow as well.
