And last time i checked .... VQ has been around way before Renault partnership dude ... get your facts straight ... VQ gets imported from Japan into Europe ... do some research ... and BTW ... just in case you are following Top Gear who once claimed that VQ is made by renault ... please ... you need to stop following some HUGE euro-biased freaks ... not starting an argument here but it ticks me off when people have wrong info and they come solid ..
Holy. Easy cowboy. I dont drive a Nissan, I drive a Datsun. And I hate everything. Get your facts straight.

Whether Renault was involved with the VQ is irrelevant. Its the fact Nissan had such difficulty holding consistency with their production runs paired with inadequate engineering however, is. The past ten years have been a slippery slope for more than one major manufacturer. Though I may be bitter about some issues pertaining to Nissan and Infiniti Canada, theres a reason why I still drive the car I own.

G-MAN if you want a cheaper OEM option try WIX filters. Most auto parts stores carry them out here so I cant see why you would have issue finding anything out east.

K&N gets too dirty and then it is just worse than any other filter (have bad experience with them on my Altima). I would highly recommend going CAI or SRI but if you don;t like the growlin sound, stick with the OEM for OEM box. They are cheap anyways ... ebay them in bulk
Cheers !!
Thing is I DO like the sound as I noted in my original post, the thing I don't like is spending $500. + for a CAI system that shows very minimal gains if any at all.
One other guy had a good point to change the tubes to aftermarket and/or Z tubes, thing is I'm not sure I can get anything for a twin intake setup, does the new Z have a different twin intake than the G?

I actually read that after i posted but i was busy with some Nissan haters

Anyways ... I have heard of a G sedan with a Takeda intake .... neat SS look with an amazing growl. The guy paid 310-320 CDN ... try tougetuning ... i will give you the link http://www.tougetuning.com/store/tak...-v6-p-477.html This guy is local in Mississauga and i know he can do cash deal plus give you some discount ... or maybe weapon-r ... it's velocity stack is pretty good http://www.redlinemotive.com/part-nu...04-133-101.asp

I think the guy who recommended Z tube didnt notice you have a 2nd gen sedan ... Z tube is for 1st gen coupes (don't know if it fits early sedan) ... so yeah ...

I would say spend a bit more on a Takeda and you will be pleasantly surprised by how your car feels and of course sounds

+1 ... OEM for OEM box .... don't get bribed by the washable characteristic of the K&N (OEM replacements only)... just not worth it ... total waste of money IMO

Thanks G35mania that sounds more reasonable in terms of price point I'll definitely look into those in the near future.

You know that there's a difference between knowing the engine and knowing a car right? So READ AGAIN ... i said i know VQ engine ... I have not owned a G sedan ever ... I don't know what the "Intake Setup" is like? where all the nuts and bolts to hook up an intake are?? But why am i arguing it ... did i ever say i knew the sedan? That discussion was strictly for the blocks.... and not intakes
Anyways ... PM me your # ... i have heard about you and i need to get some work done

OP ... no problem bud ... hope you find a good deal on those

I'm just sayin' everyone know the GS/GC/Z all shared the exact same motor. (even the 03s sedans which the brochure said 260hp, baseline dyno is the same as the coupes 280hp)
