Child Booster Seats

Found out my booster seats were way too wide for my G35 sedan's backseat.

CDN Tire has these on sale right now, fabric on the bottom instead of hard plastic so they don't scratch the leather.

Good padding so their comfortable. lower latch anchors so they don't move around.

On sale until July 28th.

That's actually pretty slick.

On that note- while boosters are actually quite easy to install (in most cases you just put them in and use the vehicle restraint system to secure your child)... rear facing and forward facing seats can be a challenge. Statistically, over 70% are put in wrong (including boosters- which are almost impossible to screw up).

People don't put them in wrong on purpose- they just don't know. Most of us grew up driving in our parent's laps... I was stearing when I was 4 or so.

Anyway- not to threadjack but on a related note if you're having some problems installing your seat... or a forward facing seat is loose... or your rear facing seat isn't sitting just right let me know. I'm certified as a car seat inspector through the health region and worked a lot with my old fire department and police car seat blitz teams and have a real passion for the proper installation of car seats.

Drop me a pm if you're a bit embarassed about asking what you might think is a simple question!

I like the fact these boosters utilize the LATCH points in the vehicle.

I'm a huge fan of the Recaro Pro Booster. It's an incredibly safe seat and looks like it belongs in the car. I got a seat saver to protect the leather, and the narrow base fits the bucket seat perfectly. On the other hand I spent three times the non sale price for the seat and saver...

I'm not sure on the model, but it's made by Sunshine Kids out of WA, and I got the seat and saver from Segal's for Children.

Nice. I like the Latch feature. My son's booster is too wide as well (the standard Graco model from Toys'R'Us), the door side ends up sitting on the bolster so that the non-door side doesn't block the seat belt buckle. Of course I can't do anything about it, cause he would freak if I took his Lighting McQueen seat away...

I have to pick up a booster for my daughter. This one looks really good and I might go have a look at one today. Thanks for the link!

I ended up buying this yesterday for my daughter. I gotta say, the LATCH system on this is pretty darn slick. Once it's latched in there, it's EXTREMELY secure.

Not a bad looking car seat eh?

More comfy than most others I have looked at also.

I found some black seat protectors at Toys R Us that work pretty well.

I noticed with the seat sitting the way it does my son was putting his feet on the edge of the seat.
