Rear End Noise - Need Help
I've been dealing with a rattling sound coming from my rear for past few weeks. I'm not sure what to call this noise (pardon my ignorance) but it surely seems like coming from trunk body. I've checked with 2 different service centres (1 of them is a Nissan dealer) and they couldn't find any issue with the suspension parts. Everything seemed in working/safe condition according to the mechanics. The other said it could be STRUTS but they need to take everything apart.
I've searched a bit and found the following which generally cause rear noises:
From Googling, it doesn't seem like a body work job (even though it feels like). The noise starts as soon as I'm on the road, smallest bumps or anything. It's not turn-dependent, occurs on straight road, even at first move from start. It's neither rhythmic nor loud, goes low to high for pathholes/bumps. This is driving me nuts. I've 130K km on it.
I would appreciate any suggestion. Thanks.

- Compression rod

- Bushings
- Control arms
- Struts/ shocks

It wont be the compression rods, they are located in the front. Check the struts, the swaybars will squeek/creak more than anything.
If you are hitting bumps and sounds like a clunking noise in the rear, then I would probably say its the struts, get them to check for any leaks on the struts when they take the wheel off.

My bad, it surely comes from rear. More like from the rear windshield frame or trunk. It's not like clunking/creaking from the wheels. The tech from Nissan dealer said that he is pretty sure it's not a suspension/wheel issue. More likely to be something being loose on top body of rear. But it can take days to pinpoint the problem and tons of hourly pay $$$
The other service centre would cost $375 parts & labor for KYB Struts to be installed. Are they good OEM replacement especially when I've sports suspension? And I've to be sure where the problem lies first. I will try to upload the noise I'm having here.

Audio
I did check the spare tire area, all tools were in their spots.
I took couple of videos using my cell from my rear seats kept down. They're mostly audio, wait for "Tuck" "Tack" sounds

* Embedding isn't working for me

I think I'm having the same issue, this is not my first time trying to find an answer... To me it sounds just like what your video has... Like a popping noise...
What I did a few weeks ago was lower my back seat, cleared trunk and had my brother ride in the back seat area to try and pin point the sound... He was quite certain it was coming from the passenger side rear speaker deck area, where the rear glass meets the body.... I didnt try removing any of the carpeting to get to it, just left it alone..maybe someone else has an idea...Mine doesn't sound as loud as yours but I have noticed it has gotten louder over time, hope it doesnt continue

Me neither. But the rear seats don't seem like creating it. Again, I've no clue.
The tech who used to work in Nissan here thinks there might be something loose in the rear STRUT area. For that, he needs to get into there. If it's worn; then may replace it.

So I have been having the same issues.
I am pretty sure mine are internal to the cabin area (not the suspension) and seems to likely have occurred due to me installing an aftermarket subwoofer.
I don't know if the air pressure has loosened something, but I recently took out my rear seats and checked all the bolts and they were super snug.
I did notice a thread on here, super old but this guy sounds like he had similar issues.

Anyone else think this fix could be it, looks like he is moving two metal pieces apart so they dont touch?
Just a thought.
