Thornhilll Tints...great great shop. Totally knows how to colour match (since the stock glass has a slight slight greenish tint to it). Really treats your car like gold.

Had my previous car (WRX) done at FX Auto (Markham) and the quality was excellent. We had a group buy and it came out to $250 out the door for the charcoal lumar tint. Got 35% on the front and 20% on the rears.

Just had my G35 Coupe done at by a local tint place Image1 out in Kitchener. This guy enters competitions and it costed me $150 out the door (another group buy). Same tint was used, got 35% for the front's and 20% on the rears again. Same charcoal lumar tint. Got it done on Monday, so I"ll give it a few days for the tint to settle. So far so good.

Hi guys,

New to the board, getting my 06 Coupe in a week or so and scoping out tint shops. I've used Thornhill Tints before and was very satisfied with my first car but my second car, he couldn't deal with the dot matrix stuff. Is FX Auto able to do a good job with the dot matrix? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I've used Thornhill Tints before on my cars but he's become too unreliable and customer service isn't that great anymore. He's more worried about his dealers than the rest of us.

I had my sedan tinted in August at FX Auto and had no problems with their work. I really think they did a great job. No bubbles at all.

Welcome aboard BananaKing.

Bill,

How was the dot matrix area done? Any imperfections? I'm kinda picky when it comes to that but I don't even know if it's possible to perfect that part of the window. If you got some close up pics would be great, or if you're close by maybe I could stop by and check out the tint job.

Thanks

I can also recommend Tint Master in Mississauga. James has done all my cars from my first car a '89 Cavalier RS to my '00 Lexus GS400 and he will be getting my '05 FX35 very soon.

James the owner along with Jim the main installer do super quality work at a decent price. Hope that helps!!

I got my G35 tinted by F/X Auto in Markham. Took them about 2hrs so I waited. Everything looks awesome except for a couple of bubbles on the passenger side window. They are fixing it for me free of charge.

The guys there were really nice and the owner really cares about what he does! It cost me 225.00 + Tax.

Good Luck!

The Dot matrix is a bitch and there is virtually nothing you can do about it. Especially on the big back window. I will be honest my back window has some blotchy "bubble" coloring at the top... If you are willing to rub the window every couple hours or so you may be able to promote better adhesion to the glass... I am just as picky as you and a little frustated that there is nothing you can do with it except cross your fingers!

Thanks for the info BADG35. I'm ok on a lot of things, but when it comes to the tint, I can't stand imperfections. And the dot matrix area really kills me. I've talked to a FX and Detailingshop.ca and both said that there's nothing they can do except try their best. Sigh.... BADG35, you got any close up pics? Much appreciated.

2SAVVY, thanks for the info, I'll check them out too.
