Michelin Brake Dust Repellent

Last week I noticed that crappy tire had brake dust repellent made by Michelin. It was only $11.99 so I figured I would give it a shot. It goes on similiar to a tire foam. You just spray it on, let it set for a few seconds, then wipe it off.

Anyways, after a week my wheels hardly have any dust on them at all. I would say it is repelling at least 90% of the brake dust that I am used to. At least I don't have to wipe down my wheels every day of life now!

Just thought I would share this in case anyone else wanted to try it.

So the big question is...where does the brake dust go??? It has to go somewhere!

Hey Shane, that product sounds great. I'll be sure and tell my bro about that stuff. His coupe still dusts like mad. My M doesn't dust at all , thank God, I was sick of it on the coupe, but that brake dust repellent sounds like it solves the problem. TNX.

Sweet mother, if this actually works I am going to buy you a beer. Brake dust is like my nemesis. Seriously, I spend more time wiping dust off the rims than I do driving.

Absolutely worth a brewskie. That dam brakedust is a PITA for sure. Practically a daily cleanup.

Canuck is down in Rothesay N.B. though. I little far to buy him a beer.
I'm going that way in the fall, so I'll buy him one for us all.

On your car Balzz, if I seem to remember correctly it went all down the sides of your car when you came to that Spring Meet. Mmmmmm I think it was from breaking them in at that track or someting like that .

Seriously though, I have not had any major dusting problem on our 05 X. I think there was an improvement on the 05s. I just put a coat of Zaino on mine and they are easy to clean up when I do my weekly washing.

Wolfster, that's strange that your experience was not as positive as mine. I am not sure how you applied it (and not saying you did it incorrectly), but I applied three coats of it back to back and it works beautifullly. Like I said in my original post, I am easily repelling 90% of the brake dust that I have unfortunatley grown a custom to.

And whether it works for you or not Picus, I will take you up on that beer offer!!
