Tabz, check page 5, i think they currently out of stock for now for the +20 offset. They're not sure when they will get more of those, but it seems like it will snow really soon, so if you got 6mt, you might want to consider Jerry's deal or Redline automotive's 18" LM22 sale.

Re: Canadian Winter Wheels/tires

I found a place that has a pretty good selection and prices for both sedan and coupe. I bought the sedan tires with steel wheels. http://www.proparts.ca/front_product...?ProductID=452

Hey Dally, did you get your 18s tire yet? From where and how much? I think i will go for the same route since i might change my rims in the future, and use my 18s as winter. So which stores you got them from?

Re: Canadian Winter Wheels/tires

Does anyone know where I can get the BSA rims from at this point, or even the FRD's? I'm late on getting the winter package done and am looking for my wheels options for brembo's but very few have anything in stock.

thanks.

If you want BSA, go Wheel-Direct (416.754.0997). If you want the FRD/CSA (they are the same rims), try BigH or Jerry on this forum. If you just want 18s winter tires, try Redline Automotive (416.292.1431)

If you're in the market for just 18" performance winter tires and not having any luck with local suppliers, check out www.tiretrends.com.

This is a shop out of Vancouver and very good to deal with. Ask for Bob or Mort and they'll give you an additional 5% off (basically free shipping) for being a member of the G35 Forum. In addition, because it's coming from BC, you don't have to pay PST. Only GST will apply. I picked up a set of 18" Hankook Ice Bears for a little over $800. bucks to be mounted on the stock rims. 20" rims will come in the spring..Yeah baby!

Otherwise, give Jerry a call at Yorkville Infiniti. I'm sure he can help.

Re: Canadian Winter Wheels/tires

If the size of the tire is the same except that one is on 17" rims and one is on 18s (ie. 235 45), will there be a difference in performance? Is there increased safety because there is more room in the wheelwell with the 17s (for snow)? I am not too worried about the rim being damaged but I am concerned about decreasing my safety if I stick with the 18" rims. Any thoughts?

Re: Canadian Winter Wheels/tires

no, nothing wrong with the 18s on the 235 45's as there are larger tires that can go in the wells.

This should be ok, at least for me and the price.

Re: Canadian Winter Wheels/tires

Dally, well, it seems like all the 18s winter tires are out of stock in Toronto. I guess i will have to go with the 17s route, or 16s.

Does anyone know if the winter steel rims in 16s will clear the breaks on the sedan?

Its about safety, not looks dude

Dude, I don't think u understand why Winter tires are required. Its about safety, not looks. On a G35Coupe, one must invest in Winter tires. You will not move with 18" tires and rims. Its rear wheel drive, no weight in the back. The wider the tire the worse the handling, winter tires are made of special softer compound that is suitable and best for Winter Cold climate etc. and of course the narrower the tire the better.

Re: Canadian Winter Wheels/tires

My G's still on its origianl 4seasons and I am planning to keep it that way...but speaking of winter tire/rim, just last week, I had to finally put winter rim/tires on my Z3 for the first time since we had it in 97. Got a set of BMW original rims shown in the picture above, with 4 slightly used ( ~75% thread left) Bridgestone WT21 tires all for $450 including installation...pretty happy about it 'cause we got the first taste of snow just couple of days after I found the set and install it...worked great!

Sorry that this post isn't really about the G, just feel like ranting a bit since I haven't posted anything for a long time Wassup Dally?!!! Wassup AceIt!!

G35: Black with Willow/Canadian Premium Package.
Z3: Silver with Red leather interior.
