looks like some residue from the clay got stuck on the paint. was it hard to slide and dragging? try claying it again with more soapy water or detailer spray. you only need to use a real light pressure, kind of like your just wiping the surface. Don't rub it in.

Yeah, you have to keep the surface wet with soap and water (at least that's what I do with the Zaino bar)... and if you drop the clay bar on the ground don't keep using it - even if you can't see anything on it, they'll be pieces of dirt that can scratch the paint. I always break the clay bar in half, just in case I drop it I'll have another piece to use.

not enough lubrication, you should be able to get that out with any cleaner wax by hand

yep.. after kneeding the clay.. spray the clay with the lubricant of the choice of the clay you have.. and the surface of where you want to clay.. there is no such thing as too much lubricant because it is a mild abrassive so you want it to glide picking up as much as the top surface as possible without sacrificing what had happened to you the first time. It's okay don't worry about it, it'll be fixed with calmness and the proper usage the next time lol

of course i used it with the mothers lubrication haha. in fact i used alot of it, but when it dried up i wiped it off with the mf towel, and i saw that. i was hesistant to clay that section again since it was bad already. so should i clay it again or just wax it? i havnet waxed the car yet. im putting on a second layer of z5 tomorrow

if it was difficult then you didnt have sufficient lubing..Try soapy water/ zaino soap with distilled water. a better lube i would think. it should glide on the paint surface. Besides if it is residue of the clay bar z5 wont take it off. gotta use a cleaner wax.

This may sound stupid but the questions have to be asked.

1) Did you wash the car prior? lol
2) You do know that you don't have to rub hard while you're claying, right?
3) You previously stated that, "..when it dried up i wiped it off with the mf towel." Do not let the lube dry before you wipe it.
4) You did do one section @ a time, correct? [one section meaning panel by panel]

oh.. one more question..

You did kneed the clay after each panel, correct? If not then you really should have, regardless if you "see" the dirt or not, because it's there.

very light pressure is all it takes, just slide it across the surface don't push down on it and always keep the surface wet, never run it across paint dry. if it's dragging/sticking you're using too much pressure.

either reclay the area or use a cleaner wax or something like mothers/maguires stage one.
