Looking for advice
Looking for advice
I've read through many posts on the Care & Detailing thread, and I must say I was thoroughly overwhelmed. I just bought an 07 G35S in Black. Love the color, and I understood it was going to take work on my end to maintain the color.
However, I wasn't happy with the way the dealership delivered. I feel like they rushed the prep process because it was semi-late. It looks GREAT in the garage, but when it's out under the direct sun - totally different. I wouldn't say I see swirl marks, but they shine is uneven and very unsatisfying for me to look at.
Last night I went to Autozone and read through the descriptions of a bunch of products from the Meguiars 3 step process, what a clay bar was and what its used for, carnauba wax, polishes, etc. I ended up buying Mothers Carnauba Wax and applied that last night after I washed it. But I feel as if it still looks the same.
So my question is, what products should I look into buying? I don't have a porter cable, just my 2 hands and a decent work ethic. I've read about Zaino products, but I always read tons of abbreviations, so i have no idea which one i should buy.
Suggestions?
Thanks for reading my long post.

from a pro detailer that worked on black g's he said that the paint
micromarrs very easily....means that you will want to do a very fine
polish before you apply your wax.
Prima Amigo
Prima Epic or even just Hydro
www.detailersparadise.com
use the softest pad you can find for the wax, no cotton pads or towels.
use DP's monster fluffy wax removal MF towel.

Prima Amigo will get off the uneven shine, or micromarrs?
Is there something that can enhance hte color of the black, like, make it more of a brilliant black as opposed to just a mirror shine?

As for products, I like NXT from Meguair's. It is pretty easy to use, seems to hide some swirls, and is available over the counter. It makes black look very dark and wet.
THIS THREAD IS USELESS WITHOUT PICTURES!
I know i know! its rainy here, so hopefully tomorrow afternoon i'll be able to get it at the right angle.
I had eventually planned on getting a PC. Yeah, I do believe hte holograms are just wax swirls. What product gets rid of that?

use it after your typical polishes. on a brand new car, should only
need very mild polish and soft polish pads.
