From Sal about ZFX

Sal,
I put a couple layers of Z5 this past weekend (enabled with ZFX). I plan to
add a coat of Z5 or Z2 this weekend....do I need to enable it with ZFX or do
I only use ZFX for the first application.
>
Thanks

From Sal,
You never have to strip Zaino and start over again... And you never
have to use Dawn again...

ZFX accelerator additive is to be used twice a year on an everyday car
and once a year on a show car. Also, please reapply ZFX additive after
every ten coats of Zaino polish(Z-2 Or Z-5 or both). ZFX will never
remove Zaino. It will tighten up and strengthen the polish system and
increase the
gloss.

NOTE: ZFX is an incredible product and I found the more often you
use it the better your paint will look.. I use it all the time... but
it's up to you...

The new Zaino ZFX is an accelerative additive that can be mixed
with Z-2, Z-3 or Z-5....

Below are just a few of the improvements....

1. When mixed as per directions, you will not need to apply Z-1...

2. It will reduce the drying time, thus making the polish more
user friendly in damp environments...
3. It will increase the gloss factor and extend the durability
level..
4. It will have an instant cure time, so you can immediately apply
multiple coats.. No more waiting between coats...
5. And more........

________________________________________________

I'm still a bit confused. I put on Z5 a few days ago and after 24 hours the polish in the bottle has "expired". Should I add ZFX for my next set of Z5/Z2 layers I plan to apply this weekend?

ZFX decreases the drying time (among other things) of Z2 and Z5 from what I understand. If you don't have Z1 then you need to add ZFX to the Z2 and Z5 when you first apply after washing with dawn. you can use ZFX on your next application to speed up drying times, but it is not necessary when you use Z2 and Z5 over existing coats.

If you only need to wash it with Dawn once when using Zaino, does it follow that you only need to clay the car once when using Zaino?

Thanks

The dawn is merely to strip the old wax. Claying actually removes those fine particles that get imbedded into the paint. That said, no matter how good the sealant is, you will always eventually get some particles to imbed in the paint which will need to be removed to keep the surface clean and smooth.

How often do you clay your car after the first time?
