Scratch :(

So i accidentally scratched my glove box door. I have graphite interior and it left a thin yet noticable 2 inch mark. Anyone have any ideas of how to blend this away or reduce scratches, anything?
Thanks

One trick >>

Is to use a lighter (or hopefully something more controllable) as a heat source and gently heat the plastic to get it to melt back together. Obviously there are risks, but it can be done.

Re: Scratch :(

Anyone have any guesses as to how much a replacement glove box door would cost, not including the labor.
I am so pissed at myself for scratching it. I was getting propane and the tank slid sideways and this sort of sharp edge gave me this nightmare. I know other people have bigger problems with their cars, but f*ck. (((((

Re: Scratch :(

My company designs and manufactures plastic interior components for several automakers, including Nissan. What we use to 'rework' product that has been lightly scratched is a product called Per-Fix 7205B. This spray applied product is essentially a "flaw repair coating for plastic parts". It initiates a change to the molecular structure of the material which results in an invisible defect. As with all plastic repair products, attempt on a hidden panel first before proceeding.

Re: Scratch :(

My guess would be that door would cost at least $100, probably more, all this stuff is expensive, and that's not limited to Nissan or Infiniti!
