I personally don't trust any of those places to wash my car but there is a car wash on Broadway and Columbus near the Glendale Galleria. It's always busy and I think they use chamois' to hand dry the car, but you will need to verify that. I always see Gs, BMWs & Benzes there.

You couldn't pay me to take my car through a regular car wash. The very thought of those guys "drying" my car with dirty rags makes me start to weep. If you really HAVE to do a car wash, make sure it's 100% TOUCHLESS and don't let them dry the car with their towels.

Optimum No Rinse. You will only need a bucket and a few rags. Same as everybody else said, rarely trust car washes. Another option is to take it to a do-it-yourself but bring your own bucket and soap...you'd basically just be using it for the water and the space. Those brushes will do your paint in.

I live in an apt too. What I do is fill 2 buckets; one with soap/water and one with just water. I find an open spot in front of my apt on the street and go to town. But then again if there are no open spots that pretty much sucks.
