Can you only get Grit Guards online?
I'm trying to get a set to start using the 2 bucket method but have yet to see them at the local auto parts store. Any suggestion where to buy locally? I'm in the okc area btw.
Somebody made there own grit guard using the stuff you buy at lowes or home depot.

I have a 3 gallon bucket that my grit guard didn't fit in...so I went old school ghetto, and started shopping through my closets and house. Wound up finding the basket from a salad spinner that fits perfectly! Needless to say I'm buying prewashed bagged lettuce now.

man, that's ghetto fabulous but looks like it gets the job done. i may just have to get a piece and layer them to get about 5 inches off the bottom of the bucket and that should be equal to a couple of grit guards. i was thinking of something i could modify around the house but couldn't muster anything up. thanks for getting the gears going!

Naw. Just stick 3 pcs of an old handle or something to prop it up 5" off the bottom of the pail. Or some pails are actuall smaller at the bottom so if you size it right, you can get it "stuck" before it hits the bottom.
