What Ever Happened to Crystal Guard?

A few years back people raved here and on my350Z about Crystal Guard... I don't see anything about it anymore and their website doesn’t exist anymore...

That stuff and Zaino was all people use to talk about

Does anyone know if it's still around?

there was a "professional" 3 step version of Crystal Guard that only certified vendors (installers) could apply... It has some hard core chemicals and some kind of glass fiber material (I forget what it’s called)... The user product I guess was some simple spray.

I got the impression the professional stuff wasn't typical - and therefore not really comparable to Zaino - I think it's much more industrial - somewhat a permanent protection not a standard periodic wax application like Zaino.

I wish I could find current info about it...

I tried Crystal Guard & Zaino. Now I am using turle wax's ice liquid polish.

Crystal Guard is ok, but expensive. That's why I stop using.
But Zaino is the sh*t! but also took a long time to apply. But in the same time it last a very long time. I might go back.

turle wax's ice liquid polish is very easy to apply. Cheap...compares to Crystal Guard.

What about the “professional” 3 step stuff?... Crystal Guard used to have a web site that had a list of local professional appliers (if I remember correctly)… the 3 stage stuff can’t be purchased by consumer… but I can’t find any current info at all… do you have a link?

LOL. I think they ran out of business LOL. The website is gone LOL.
They suck. full of sh*t and over priced.LOL

Here is a quote I found. and I do agree. It doesn't last. Go Zaino. but if you are lazy use other wax product instead.

"I HIGHLY recommend you visit www.s2000online.com, goto the Wash-n-Wax forum and read the CG reviews... I did a long extensive test against CG, ad quite frankly-- its complete and utter ****.

Ohh-- as far as holding up to water spots... it doesn't. At ALL. The test-panel I used (the actual test was over about a 1 month period), was near my sprinkler system for my yard so it got nailed every 3 days.

Talk about a mess... The CG was completely gone withing a few days after applying, and horrid waterspot remained behind. Even the cheapest waxes are far superior.

In reality, however, Zaino is the best stuff I've used (out of everything). The best "wax" (though I prefer synthetic polymers like Zaino) was P21S.

Anyway, take a look at www.zainobros.com and the s2k forums... We have done a lot of wax testing,etc... lots of good info over there."

Zaino is EASY to install. It is so much easier than wax to put on and remove... and is head and sholders better than wax. It doesnt yellow either like wax does so you wont have that yellow buildup on your car. There is a reason why som many people use it...
