Regular Wash

I just got my G 2 weeks ago and today it rained. I want to wash my car but i don't want to zaino/cg it just yet, i just want to get all the rain residue off my car. I just wanted to get any suggestions on just washing your car regularly.

Plus, i'm planning to get my clear bra too, should I zaino/cg my car before i bring it in?

Thanks

Re: Regular Wash

Use any car wash soap for regular washing. Don't use Dawn on a regular basis.

I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure they wash/clean the areas they are going to apply the clear bra to so I'd wait on the Zaino/CG until after installation.

Re: Regular Wash

Unless my G is particularly dirty/grimey, I will often just use the high pressure rinse with plain water, then dry with a chamois. I do wonder how harsh the soap is in the "foaming brush" at the coin operated car washes.

I've always wondered about that soap too, but I've been using it for a while and my wax jobs have been holding up to it fairly well. Of course, I always spray off the foaming brush thoroughly with the high-pressure rinse before using it.

Re: Regular Wash

I'd be more worried about what might still be attached to that brush from the last 4x4 that it cleaned.

Re: Regular Wash

Just for the record, I very rarely use any kind of soap to wash my car, usually just on the tires and wheels, and I have been doing this for years.

Re: Regular Wash

What do you use then? Just water?

Re: Regular Wash

Yes, have for years, the only time I use soap on my paint is on the lower panels when they are really dirty from snow or rain.
