Re: QUICK!!! What % Tint?!?
Go with 35% or darker. I live in NJ and I had 35% on my Jetta and I got a ticket for it and I got hassled by a cop. On my G, I only tinted my rear windshield 15%. If I do decide to get all of my side windows tinted, they will be tinted to 15%. When I had 35% on the Jetta, it was too light and I got hassled for it anyways...might as well go with 15% (or basically whatever level of tint you truly want).

Re: QUICK!!! What % Tint?!?
maybe i missed it from the prevous posts--but what is the legal limit in NJ?
2-3 weeks ago i got pulled over by MD state trooper with my legal 35% tint. Went through hell trying to prove it was legal. Apparently they don't understand that dust/dirt on a window can bring the light transmittance level down to 33.7%....

Re: Metal tint and navi
Yes, it would.....but that really depends on where the antenna is located. Also, keep in mind metallized film will progressively distort reception as you go w/ darker shades.

Re: Metal tint and navi
I thought that the owners manual states that the navi antenna is located in the dash and it "sees" through the front window. I wonder if it still picks up some signal through the front side windows.
Re: Metal tint and navi
How much metal in the film will also play a lg role in signal disruption. "Mirror" tint has much more metal in the film, which will distort signals significantly. However, when I mention signal disruption, I am saying that it will distort and not block off complete reception. I haven't checked the owner's manual to locate the antenna, but if it's where you say it is, then you don't need to worry too much because in all likelihood, you will not tint your front windshield and retint your sunroof..........those glasses alone will give provide enough clearance for the signal to come through.
