If you are using a pc,flex or rotary and medium to aggressive polishes dont expect to have much in the way of any clearcoat left but the paint wont fade.............................................. ....yet.

12 times a year is excessive. you will eventually buff through the clearcoat. buffing twice a year is usually standard. try a claybar. it will give you the effect you want and not remove the paint.

What is meg's X? I assume you are referring to scratch-x? Its a pretty mild polish meant to be used by hand. At only speed 3/4 I doubt you are really doing more than polishing off a very thin layer.

Your paint won't fade. Cause are paints are not single stage paint. On single stage paint you'll see the paint fade (Oxidize). On Clear coat cars you won't ever see them fade.

You n00b....buffing more then like once every 6-8 months does not do anything....main purpose to buff is to get the paint applicable for wax/polish....

If your paint if smooth there is no need to buff it....try a claybar like they stated above....

Buff if you must to get scratches out....
