Instructions for Clear Corners?

I just got my clear corners in from Stillen.com and the directions are in japanese and the pictures are not enough information. Could someone please tell me how to install the clear corner lenses? Thanks.

Re: Instructions for Clear Corners?

I just recently installed the clear corners as well.....

if you look in your owners manual, there is a section that covers light bulb replacement for the corner marker.....

If you take a small flat head screwdriver, wrap in in a pc of cloth or towel...insert it on the fender lip side of the marker between the corner marker and the fender and gently lift it outward. It should easily pop out and then you pull the assembly towards the wheel well and it will lift right out.

twist off the bulb socket maybe half a turn, and the bulb assembly will come right off the corner marker....

install the socket/bulb assembly on the clear corner and reinstall the same way you removed it.....Good luck!!!!!!

I didn't use any tools at all. Just pop them off by hand. It takes all of 30 seconds to complete the mod.

(s)he probably just wants to make sure (s)he's doing it right so that (s)he doesn't mess up, break, or crack his/her $50+ mod. remember, we were all newbies once...

Is it me...or does it seem that they would be REAL easy to steal? Damn I didnt know thats all the install took (or should I say, the removal)

Re: Instructions for Clear Corners?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As far as being easy to steal.......
I was considering Ducatiguys mod for the corners.....He put a metal rod thru the corner from the inside.....so nobody could just walk by and lift them.....

But I was a little afraid that they may do extra damage to the fender opening if they can't get them out too easily....

Either way your screwed.....I think if they want to get them they will.....So far I've had no problems....
But every time I walk out to my car after work I'm expecting to see my lights hanging there all alone!

Re: Instructions for Clear Corners?

I always keep stock corners in the trunk-- for parking in sketchy areas.

Re: Instructions for Clear Corners?

Suggest also handling bulb with latex glove/cloth. Hand oils can cause bulb to burst early when hot.

Re: Instructions for Clear Corners?

I thought the bulb thing was mainly directed towards the higher temp/HID bulbs, not the 5watt in the corners......
when I changed out my fog/high bulbs, I was sure not to touch the glass of the bulb....
I did not see anything warning the same on the smaller bulbs.... I could be wrong...won't be the first time thats for sure...

Re: Instructions for Clear Corners?

mizzoutiger... thanks for the tip!

gr8tg35... i remember some old threads where they used epoxy or plastic ties to keep the clears in, too.

wrah... no feminaziism involved. the only way that "he" can be synonymous with any sex is if you're a hermaphrodite. but don't you worry. either your little junior will grow some more or he'll just involute.
