Matte black tire dressing review + Detailed car today PIX!

Alright so I spent my whole Saturday afternoon detailing my car. I washed/clayed/polished/waxed it. I know a lot of you detail buffs use Zaino but I just went with Meguiars for each step. Eventaully I will graduate to Zainos and Porter Cables

I don't like the icky wet look from tire dressing, but I saw "Black Magic Titanium Matte Black" tire dressing and decided to give it a try. Here's the before and after pix:

Tire will actually look red/brownish when in direct sunlight:

Here, the lower half of the tire is applied with the dressing:

And here it is completely done:

I actually like this stuff. My tires now look fresh like when I just bought them three months ago

And here's the fruits of my labor

Car looks great.

I'm with you on tire treatments, I hate the real wet look. I prefer a satin finish with my tire dressings.

I don't see how this thing can sling off because it is not very thick at all. I applied it using nitrile gloves and a shop towel(the ones that don't tear off). I used a very small amount because I DREAD that slippery wet look. I will look to see if it slings off tomorrow and update with a picture.

UrangeAve, did you use the "matte black" version or the "wet" version?

If you really like a matte finish, the over the counter NASCAR stuff works really well and there is minimal sling with it. If you like the really wet look, the Meguiars NXT looks like it is dripping wet, but I don't trust it staying only on the tires. A good medium is Blackfire's Long Lasting Tire Gel or Chemical Guy's Extreme VRP. The NASCAR is a great bang for the buck product as is the VRP.

I used the "matte black" version. I figured now that it was possibly my applicator.....I used a sponge type. I can say so far that I have had no problems with it slinging off though.

Ok guys, I just took a pic. After a few days the tire still looks fresh. This is with sunlight shining directly on it.

Black Magic Titanium Matte Black looks good, I've never seen it sold here though . We do live in igloos though.

I, like you, also like matte black tire dressings. I use meg's endurance, which has been excellent. Applying on ribs are a pain, but the sponge applicator that comes with endurance does a decent job. If I ever decide I want a slightly more wet look, I just apply two layers. I bought it under the recommendation of many people in these forums and have never looked back .

how's the durability? BTW, brown tires is a sign you don't clean them well enough. I can get a matte black finish with no tire shine at all.
