loads of stone chips
Hi,
the front bumper on my g35 is covered in tiny stone chips and they all show up white, it looks like the sky at night
Obvious fix would be a re-paint but i don't fancy that. Next thing would be
to touch each chip up with paint and then wet sand and re-polish but this would take for ever.
So , i was wondering if something like vevet blue dodo juice wax would help to fill and mask them so it looks better. My car is blue (b16 colour).
what do guys think? any advise on what to do. It drives me mad every time i see it
cheers

My 04 Twilight Blue Coupe is the same way. I have polished, sealed, glazed, and waxed my car and the small chips are still visible. I'm not positive but I don't think switching wax colors will make a huge difference as wax will only fill-in small imperfections. Something like a stone chip is just too deep, at least on my car. I had a paint touch-up guy fix some of the most visible ones so it doesn't look quite as bad. Probably not a whole lot short of paint work will make a big difference. But if you find something please let me know, those chips irritate me too!

I asked the same thing in another thread and I was told about $300 to $400. That is more than I want to spend but I can't stand looking at all those little chips so I might just go ahead and do it.

I think you would have to add another "0" for painting the whole car! That quote was just for the bumper because they have to prep it, fill in any imperfections, and then paint it again. I think it is also a little more difficult because it is a urethane part rather than just regular sheet metal. I don't know why urethane takes more work but that is what I have been told. Hopefully someone in SoCal can help you find a decent place to get it done.
