I'm trying to get an idea of what % tint to go with.... could u guys post up some pics with different tints and say the brand if u know it and the %... and possilby cost installed? This would make a good sticky to have....i came in here thinking that there already WAS a sticky on this for some reason. I'm thinking 20-30% alla round... i wanna do as dark as possible without making it dangerous to drive at night or in the dark when its raining. I had a friend 20% all around who was at the autox track last weekend and had to stop running when it got to where it was kinda getting dim out because he said he didnt feel comfortable driving his car that fast and then it being kinda dark. I dont want to be backing up crossing my fingers but i also dont want the clear window look

give Wil a PM. ask him about Madico brand tint. i have it on my car as he installed it for me. sorry, i don't have pics, i'll post them up tomorrow. i have 35% and it's very nice. it would be hard for me to go darker because i noticed that going through dark neighborhoods without street lights is sort of hard since the tint makes it a lot darker, so i have to be careful about pedestrians j-walking. but during sunlight i think 30 to 35% is good, dark enough so the outsiders can only see outlines of the people inside . . . but how dark do you want it? and where do you live?

ive given up on the horrible search function on this site... and the houston 'stros havent been beating up on ANYONE this year... so dont count on it haha. The legal limit is 35% on the front here in texas, but i really think i want darker than that. I WANT my windows blacked out, but i dont want to have trouble with visibility.... so i am kind of torn here. I will probably end up with 25-30% tint.

and whats the difference between name brand/ off brand films? I dont think this is a name brand tint, but the installs that this guy has done for my friend's family (he used to work at Rapid Body Works in houston which he says is a good shop for high end cars) have all been really good i think. I think the only problem with any of them was the tint on his mom's old 330ci got scratched while they were putting it on and they did not notice. They took back the car and got the tint redone for free... and that was it. The tints look pretty good in my opinion. They are dark BLACK...... they arent that silvery color type tint, and i want the black so thats good. what do u guys think?

If you want the dark look and have concerns of nightime visibility, then I would recommend you stay away from 5% (limo). Generally, people have a difficult time seeing when they're backing up at nightime. During daylight, visibility's ok, but for safety reasons, you should stick to 20% or so.

yeah ive already decided that there is no reason for me to get darker than 20% really.... im gonna go check out my friend's car's and look closly at the tints (never really looked to hard before but have seen al 3 cars) and i'll decide from that i guess. They have 20% on 2 silver cars and 30% on his dad's dark metalic blue m5.... so i guess i'll be able to see prety much the job that he's done. My dad doesnt want me going MUCH darker than 35%... actually he doesnt want me going darker than 35% at all... but changed his mind after saying no.. i told him i was gonna go with 25-30% probably and he said that was fine. i have a friend with like 30% on his g sedan an another with 15% on his truck and they cant see anything behind them if there isnt light at night. I also dont do a whole lot of backing up where there isnt light tho.... I park in my garage and CANT back out of the spot that i park because i dont have enough room to turn my car around like it would need to go. The only place i can think of that would be hard is sometimes when i park in other people's driveways.... but i really dont think it'll be that big of a deal.

well i have 15%....which looks good on my car. however, my car is black. It is too dark for night time driving thou.

I have 15% on all around and it is DARK with my black interior. I think its a little to dark, really havent had to much trouble tho with driving at nite.

 

I have madico tint 35% on the fronts and 20 for the rears... I have no problem looking through it at night and cops havent bugged during the day.. I think this combo is perfect for the black G without getting in trouble with the law

23% Llumar Non-metallic.

I originally wanted ~30% but all they had was 23% and 35%.
I knew I wanted darker than 35 but I was concerned about night time visibility also. but I went with the 23 anyway and I am very satisfied!

It's fine even at night, but you have to be extra careful when changing lanes on a dark freeway.

Backing up is no problem at all. Enjoy!

damn usually im not to big of a fan of light colored cars, but i like the look of your white coupe. I like that tint. I guess i have decided to go with about 25% all around... i think that will look plenty dark on a black G coupe iwth black interior
