Growing your detail business
Growing your detail business
This is gonna be sorta off subject, but I was just looking for some advice. I found that I really love detailing people's cars over the last couple months. Sure, the money is great, but when they see how good their car looks the grin really gets me motivated. So far, most of my business has been word of mouth from my parent's work offices. Started with one client and it built to another and another. I have flyers up there and locally at my apartment bulletin board. I've seen to hit a dry spell as of late with no new clients coming in. I was just curious how some of you all had grown your detailing client list to what is today. Is it print advertising or like I've been doing, mainly word of mouth. Any help ya'll could input would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks
Brett

make some business cards with a website that you have made on the cards, now other than word of mouth and flyers, with this added it will start your foundation. Ad in the local newspaper/pennysaver etc. word of mouth is huge, prob. your biggest way to network. good luck
Word of mouth, business cards, and a Facebook.

One of the good things about Facebook is the ability to have all your pictures posted. This can play a huge part in getting jobs booked since people can see your work. At first it was tough to remember to bring the camera and take time to take the pictures, but you get into the habit of it and you can start to build up some nice albums.
It might be more capable than how I'm using it now, but I also add customer testimonials to the Notes section of my page, and update when any of the sponsored cars I detail or work on have events or have won awards. I think it gives an extra dimension not many detailers may be utilizing.
The bottom line is to make it yours and have fun with it, and if your work is good enough the customers will be there. Be sure you are always working towards continuously improving and learning and don't settle for "good enough".

Very well put. I just finished setting up the business page and made some business cards in photoshop that I can print out at work.
Facebook seems easy to work with so far, put up my first detailing album (always have a camera on me) lol.
Again, many thanks for the inputs.

Business cards ordered and Facebook Page created. With my next detail I'm gonna buy a domain and link the websites together. Any recommendations outside of godaddy.com or do they seem to be best from a customer service standpoint. Thanks again for all the help so far, I'm booked up through august now.
