I use Zaino...I'd try a leather cleaner first and see if that works. If it doesn't get everything off after a couple of times you can try an all purpose cleaner.

I'm not great when it comes to this side of car care... I rely on detail shops most of the time, so I'm not sure if my method is harmful to the leather or not. I just know I get the results I'm looking for - clean.

I noticed that leather cleaners never really get the grease that transfers from my dirty hands (after dinner) out too well, so I actually use one of those generic Lysol disinfectant wipes to clean the steering wheel, followed by leather conditioner to revitalize the leather and keep it healthy.

Never allow food inside your coupe/sedan, that solves a lot of issue!

I've always used Zymol leather cleaner followed by their conditioner. Never allow food inside your car, that solves many issues! When I eat I generally use a knife/spoon/fork followed by a napkin so what might end up on my steering wheel couldn't be "that" bad!

I don't allow food in my car, my hands just get greasy after eating out. Yea, you can use a fork and knife for everything, but proper etiquette is just not quite right sometimes. Like when you eat a good pizza, or fried chicken.

Wash your hands??

Besides the point, I have had some the same issues when working on the cars. Also, naturally your hands leave oils behind. So you can use a knife and fork all you want, unless you are placing napkins on the steering wheel when you drive...You will leave something behind.

Grab a tooth brush with some diluted all puporse cleaner, lightly brush it on and use a leather conditioner afterwards. Wipe off excess conditioner.

Any good leather cleaner will work. I actually did this by accident the other day and was amazed at the accumulated dirt and grime. So I did it to my other cars, sweet.

I guess that is why some shops have their mechanics wear (food handling) gloves when working on cars.

I will never understand you people and your wet wipes when there are restrooms with sinks, faucets, and soap. But none of that means there is never any residue. Another thing is that a lot of us Asians do not like to wear gloves when we work on our cars, so a lot of oil and grease and dirt end up on our steering wheels from that as well. Like someone else pointed out earlier, your skin is naturally oily anyways. Either way, if you drive enough, your steering wheel will get an oily almost greasy feeling.
