Used CrystalGuard, Its Great, This is how I did it
Used Crystal Guard today. I now highly recommend it and I think it is great! Easy to put on and get off. I used the quick like this.
I felt compelled to use the Crystal Guard primer to be sure the surface was free of any contaminents.
My process was a little different than most. This is what I did.
1. Washed car with regular car wash soap.
2. Rinsed very good.
3. Mixed 1/2 bottle of primer with about 6oz. water in a pump spray bottle.
4. Sprayed it on all over and rubbed the car down very well (the car was still wet).
5. Instead of drying the car as the instructions say you do, I just washed it again with soap and water. Much easier than drying.
6. Now the car was rinsed off and still wet, and ready to spray the Quick on. Misted the whole car with Quick.
7. Used the microfiber cloth to rub down the car, that was now misted with Quick. Rubbed it all over a couple of times.
8. Rinsed it off again.
9. Dried it off wiht my own microfiber cloth.
10. There was no haze at all.
(one precaution I took was putting a large plastic gargage bag on the windshield with packaging tape. My windshield has the PPG rain repeller, non silicone on it and I was afraid it would be messed it up.)
My car is a slick as a baby's behind and water beads up and runs off. The shine is improved. I have a brilliant silver car and I think a darker car would show the additiona shine a little better.
Love this stuff:-)

good directions.....
Good thing you covered your windshield..... I have RainX on all my windows and my first time i CG'ed the windows and it totally removed that RainX effect.
I dont recommend putting CG on the windows.....use RainX or comparable rain-repeller.

I've never used CG ...but as far as I know the wax or polish needs to dry to cure on the paint surface to some degree
by the sounds of it ..this never happened in your process.
is this how CG is suppposed to be used?

Re: Used CrystalGuard, Its Great, This is how I did it
CG needs water to activate it. Then once you spread it on, it bonds to the paint, and then you spray more water on it and dry the car. Then the CG will take overnight to fully "cure" and have its greatest shine and protection.

Re: Used CrystalGuard, Its Great, This is how I did it
heh well i get some TurtleWax brand microfiber towels from "Meijer" store, its sort of like Super-KMart or those huge All-in-One stores in their Auto department
The less polyester the better the towel.....for example i've seen 2 kinds, one that has 80% polyester and one that has 70% polyester, i got the 70% kind, its a bit softer to the touch.
3 large towels for $5, cant beat that!

Dally- Canadian tire has microfibre towels by simoniz- that's an easy source- you can also get them at almost any detailing place.
For canucks I think getting the CG might be more of a challenge.

Re: Used CrystalGuard, Its Great, This is how I did it
we're not using 100% polyester
Microfiber cloths are always made up of at least some polyester, they dont scratch.

Re: Used CrystalGuard, Its Great, This is how I did it
I ordered through the website. The microfiber cloth they ship is different than the ones I already have. I have the 3M, and some I purchased at Wal Mart. I like the one from CG pretty well, it is very smooth. 3M has a closed loop look and Wal Mart has like a cut loop pattern. The CG is totally flat and smooth, much like a lens cleaning cloth I bought at my local professonal camera store.

Actually I'm using Zaino Bros products and am very pleased with the results. I have no experience with Crystal Guard. The Zaino Bros polishes blew away all others in a test of 46 waxes done by the "Guru Reports" (www.gurureports.org). They did not test Crystal Guard.

Re: Used CrystalGuard, Its Great, This is how I did it
How did it work not using a gravity spray gun? I don't think I want to spend the money on one for a 1x/year deal. Jim Campos said I could use it in a spray bottle, but would just end up using more of it. Just wondering how it went for you? Thanks.
