What's the best type of Clay to use? and how should it be used?

I just bought some Mother's Clay for the first time. I've never used clay before because I've never had a brand new car until I bought my G35. Any suggestions before I set out on using this?

Take a look at autopia.org

There is a article there on directions. Pretty much wash the car, then go over the car again using the "lube" it comes with or use soap. I personally just use the car soap and I've found it to be easier/cheaper/faster. If the car is new though I doubt there is much. I have a 03 and almost nothing came off.
