Zaino Or Sonus W/ Klasse

Does Anyone Use Sonus Detailing Products, Along With Klasse Aio/hg Sealant, From Autotopia.com? If So, What Are Your Opinions/comparisons To Zaino? Pics Please Especially Of Black Cars.

Sonus is mostly polishes, the only comparable Zaino product is Z-PC. Since Sonus has three polishes the lineup has the advantage over Z-PC of being a little more fleshed out. In terms of sealants, Zaino is much more durable than Klasse SG, and much easier to remove after application - so if the only choice is klasse SG vs. zaino z2, I would pick the z2, but would do all my polishing with Sonus's polishes - that is if you need polishing at all.

For your sealant/wax you could use AIO (cleaner plus a weak sealant) and top it with a durable wax, as mentioned above. In that case I'd pick a wax like Clearkotes Carnuaba, Collinite 476, P21S, or Poorboys Nattys Blue - any of those should last 6-8 weeks. You could also just skip the sealant all together and go from polish to wax, or pick a different sealant all together.

completely agree. As far as sealants go SG is sometimes a bit difficult to work with. With waxes... collinite lasts pretty long but I'm starting not to like the beading. The beading on a dirty car tends to leave dirt circles all over... which is why I'm going back to FMJ for the winter/rain season since it sheets off well rather than bead. No more unsightly dirt circles for me.

This is what I was able to achieve with the old Z5/Z2 combo. But I have found equal results can be had with the Meguiars #80 followed by their NXT Tech wax. And its half the price and comes off WAY easier than the Zaino. Last just as long too. Im a Meguiars convert now.

Ya, as many times as we all say this it's true that the key is prep. Your sealant/wax combo will only look as good as the paint its protecting. Spend 90% of your time getting the paint marring-free and smooth and any of the products mentioned in this thread will look great.

im not entirely familiar w/ sonus, but if it has oils, then u cant use it w/ zaino. you could probably use zaino after aio if you wanted. just use the klasse twins and call it a day

Sonus polishes are like any other - after you use them wipe down with rubbing alcohol/water and you'll be able to use any lsp.

My experience with Klasse products have been very good. The first time I applied them, I definitely used way too much.....and it made removal more difficult than needed. I found that if there was too much build up, spray Sonus acyrilic spray, and it will easily remove any residue.

I find the P21S wax the easiest product I have ever applied and removed. It goes on like butter, and you do not need to wait for it to haze, just buff it right off.......I can usually do my entire car in under 30 minutes....the only sacrifice is its not long lasting, and you will find yourself applying another coat within 4 weeks.....

Between coats of P21S, I use the new Sonus Detailing Spray....I find it to work the best in long term performance, and I usually apply a coat after every wash. The attached pics show what the results are on a white car. I was quite impressed with the overall results.

comments on picture:
1) dude, paint the garage!
2) Mobile 1-- atta boy!
3) what's with the safe?! don't trust the bank? oh, on second thought that looks like a rifle/shotgun safe heh, um, nice ballisticus

alrighty then, a lot of good comments on this thread
  • Klasse All-In-One is advertised as a cleaner, polish, & wax
  • Zanio Z-2 is not a cleaner or a polish (this is 9 x out of 10 a good thing)
  • Zanio can be layered and lasts (comparitively) longer
  • Klasse AIO ~$20 for 10oz
  • Z-2 ~$15 for 8oz
in theory, you would be using Sonus before applying Z-2 if you needed to get rid of imperfections.
On the otherhand, Klasse AIO is supposed to take care of the imperfections and then you would use the "optional" Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze for the best results... This SG can be layered like Z-2.
i like Zaino, and have not tried Klasse.
