Any engine/electrical gurus out there?

I posted a question in the Engine forum about troubleshooting a P0444 code and would GREATLY appreciate any help I can get before spending a fortune at Sewell.

THANKS!

I read your post I think your right I think it was the shop that did your inspection. I would take it to auto zone see if they can clear the code see if comes back. Also might be your gas cap I know that sounds stupid but I have heard it can cause cel to come on. If all else falls take it to Sewell there service is great and if it's to much for them to fix you can always take it somewhere else. Good luck

thanks, but I posted the CEL code and it's very specific as to the problem, which is not the gas cap. Sewell has good customer service, but I'd disagree that they have good technical service. In fact, it's pretty poor. Back when my car was under warranty, I've had to have them fix things multiple times because of their complete lack of basic troubleshooting skills. They've also completely torn my wheels to shreds once when I unfortunately overpaid them to re-surface my rotors because I was in a hurry and too lazy to do it myself. So I had to be without my car another 2 days while they sent it off to a wheel repair guy.

I still haven't figured it out, but I posted an update on the other thread.

Anyway

I asked a guy who would have a better idea of what the confusing part is about..

The part that is getting me is checking continuity from the solenoid harness to the ECM harness

"page Ec 353 in his manual should help him, he will disconnect the solenoid valve and the ecm. use his volt meter in ohms to see if the blue and yellow wire, pin #2 on solenoid connector and pin #45 on Ecm. I hope that is what you are asking"

Thanks. Yeah, I've done that, but if you read on in my post I can't seem to get continuity to that terminal. I'm not even positive there is an actual metal pin inside 45. The weird part is that I get perfect continuity to pin 26 which is directly across from 45.

I'm not sure. With the wires bundled and going into that big harness connector, it's hard to tell which individual wire goes to which terminal.
