There's always something man...you think "I'ma wrench these bolts off, put the new shiz on, and tighten everything back up. Should be simple"...but then there is always SOMETHING lol

Glad you got it all on man. Must feel pretty satisfied after all that.

How's the car's response now??

2 gripes:
#1 I hate that top Cat bolt on the driver side... but once I figured out a tool configuration that worked it only took about 45 minutes to get it off! The trick was a 14mm deep socket (3/8) on a 3in wobble extension on a skinny flexible head rachet, and going at it from the wheel side, not the obvious way. I basically only got 1-2 clicks per motion so it was slow going, but going.

#2 I really really hate that hose connection on the bottom of the throttle body. Still not 100% happy with how much I got it on there, but I'd had enough. The MD Copper connection is right up against that other large hose that goes to the intake. Made it extra difficult, and I wasn't about to take the whole thing off again to bend the copper out some. Instructions should say to test fitment before bolting it all back together and then discover this on the last step of the install!

These 2 things alone probably ate up 4 hours. Everything else was cake.
Sad thing is, we're in Texas, so you don't need the copper piece.. you could have saved money and not gotten that version.. It doesn't get cold enough here that you'd need that piece..

Hate to break it to you, but the copper tb spacer isn't needed. For us southerners, it's kind of a bad thing. Sure it helps regulate some heat, however on those really nice and cool days when your motor is happiest, your tb will actually be warmer than it would be without because your forcing the temperature to be like the coolant...

I don't take the credit for that.. That's just from researching the different versions when I got mine.. That's all.. Asked the right questions and saved some dough..

Hard to notice much actually because I'm so blown away by the sound!! I'm sure it'll make a much bigger difference with a tune.

Yeah... my plans don't have me living in the heat forever. I guess I could have waited until I was back in CO before replacing it, but I didn't realize it was detrimental. That's probably 2-3 years away still. Oh well... I do plan on more plenum work (polish inside/paint outside). I guess I could undo it at that time. Thx!

on any of the CAT Bolts you just need alot of extensions and you access from the top side of the engine bay! can do both pipes in roughly an hour!

Will be working on Phares1 car today.....doing the whiteline bushings for LCA and Shock mount.

Finished swapping over Jared's v2's back and took back my v1's. Also fixed Joe's car and swapped over Jared's Rear D2 True coilovers onto his car so that his blown JIC Struts could be removed.

Put my KMC wheels back on... truck is back to full sexy status... though the stockers did well for me in CO. And I took the time to bring out the scale. Stock with the Hankook MT's is 82.4 lbs... the KMC's with the Nitto AT's is 95 lbs... so, approx 12.5 lbs more per wheel... hehe

I must say, changing those wheels HURT... not sure how long it'll be for my arms and back to forgive me for that one... bleh

Now you tell me! That install took me 5 hours, 1 chunk-o-nuckle, 1 fairly good forearm cut, and a black eye from a wrench falling on my face... not to mention a whole lot of cuts and scrapes all over my hands/arms. Ohhhyeah!

Hahaha when I installed my HFC's I had the wrench fall on my face too. I was so pissed. That was by far the most difficult install I've encountered yet.

My worst install story was when I was loosening a bolt and banged my thumbnail on a piece of metal under the car.. thumb nail was black and purple and eventually fell off.. SORE AS HELL!!!
