Might have to switch car out for something else. need advice.

So i'm pretty financially savvy, but i need your help guys.

I get a car allowance from work, enough to pretty much pay my $450 car note. well, my car is an 04, and in order to be in compliance to receieve this car allowance, my car has to be no older than 4 years old. so I need atleast an 06.

Well, for 2 years I got away with it, but I just recieved an email saying that I will lose my car allowance unless I put in an 06 car or above. (And i dont know anyone with a newer car than that that I can get on insurance with, that's how they verify it)

So my choices: take the 450$ hit, and keep the car. this does NOT make any financial sense to me. So now my thought is to sell the car, and pick up an 08+ car.

choices of car will be another topic, but what i'm dealing with now is that I owe way more than the car is worth (cause of the mileage)

91k on the odometer, supercharger (which is working prfectly) and some minor cosmetic issues, after market wheels, etc. is the stuff im dealing with. I can either start parting it out to put back to stock, but I am gonna take a huge hit on it. that's acceptable, i just dont wanna roll over like 5k onto a new car payment.

Did some research, cant find many sc's ones for sale, but realistaclly, anyone think I might be able to get 18-19k for the car? Stock ones are going for 14-15k with some similar mileage.

ugh,, i'm pissed. Dont really want another car, but it doesnt make sense to lose that money monthly. it's like a free car payment!

looks like someone is gonna get a really cheap sc kit locally soon.

principal wise, 18.5k... i've had it for 2 years only. bought it in paid a lot of the first year towards interest. sucked. somewhat upside down, but it's also a hard package to find.

the element is paid off, it's also an 04. the g is my car payment. If i dont meet the 06 compliance, I will be out 450 a month on my car payment.

If you're getting a car allowance, why aren't you leasing a new G37?

say it isn't so!

the $450 would be incredibly hard to walk away from. is your company not willing to negotiate a lower allowance as a trade off for having an "older" car?

because when i got the car, I wasnt getting the allowance. By the time i got this allowance, I had supercharged and everything, and now i owe more than the car's worth.

and no they wont negotiate, because it's a worldwide company called runzheimer that handles it. i work for Motorola, so it's a lotta univeral requirements.

so basically, if i dont get a newer car, i will have to pay the 450 outta my pocket, and I'll still have an old car.

I need to fig out how to sell the car (part out or not) to make up the diff.

If I were in your shoes, I would sell the Element to pay off most of the G35. Then get a newer daily driver with your $450.

i dont necessarily love the element, but i dont want to spend my 450 towards a newer DD. I'd rather spend that money towards a bad *** new project. (g37, 370z) i just cant justify having a DD with a car payment on it. cause i will still have 2 car payments, the element wont pay off the g.

i'm pretty much screwed. the best thing i can hope for is to sell the sc, and some mods and make up some of the hit i'm gonna take. i dont mind rolling over 2-3k, but 5-6k is bad.

well, looks like it's time to fix some things up and start selling things....

1. Part out the G35.
2. Sell the G35.
3. Sell the Element.
4. New project will be a daily.
5. Use money from sale of Element and G35 towards parts.

I'm sure you can part out. If you're willing to ship, the people on this forum are like scavengers. If you have a somewhat popular item, it will sell! GL with your part-out
