Fastest Stock G35 time? And most Stock WHP?

Hey guys just wondering what to be looking for with the car being completely stock.

Im thinking of buying one, and i'd imagine g35's would run at least a 14.0 stock like freak S2000s.

Am i right? I remember on this other forum a 350z a member owned was running 13.6's i believe completely stock, busting out 2.0 60fts on stock tires, he was a good driver.... then again so am I.

Just wondering.

Edit; Whats the curbweight difference between a 350z and a G35?

You can do low 14's with ideal temps, track conditions, & great driving. There are less than a hand full of people that I have seen break the 13 second barrier with a stock 03-06 G35 (DA's & driving must have been perfect). This is regarding 1st generation G35's.

Re: G-Z weight. The differences vary depending on the year. Assuming both are 03-06, weight can range as high as 300 lbs to less than 100 lbs; most of the time its 150-200 lbs in difference.

If you're looking for better results, I suggest you wait until atleast mid-october for cooler temps.

Yea. There is always those freak G35s, im sure someone can crack 2.0 60fts .

Another thing that i sort of could see causing problem is the drive by wire throttle system that comes with G35s. Whats it like trying to launch with this?

Also if what you say is true, and the G is only 200-150lbs heavier, than that should be at most a .2 differnce in quarter mile. I'd say with a perfect driver, Freak motor, 13.8 is doable.

It's not typically going to be .2 seconds slower. That "formula" is just a "guess-timate" of how much weight will affect a car in the 1/4 mile... its not always accurate.

From my personal experience, when I was stock, I was usually 0.3 seconds slower and trapped 1-1.5 mph less than a typical stock 03-06 350Z in the 1/4 mile; I've raced many stock Z's when I was stock... fun races.

13.8 stock isn't a realistic goal for us VQ35DE's. It's possible, but in very extreme conditions.

Your local track & your driving are the biggest factors... too bad the track isn't something anyone has control over (ie. tracks here in SoCal suck).

Goodluck!

One of the members here BobbyD or something like that ran 13.8 @ 101-102 mph with his 2003 Bones stock 6MT sedan. The biggest factor of him getting that time was his ability to have 2.0 60ft time on stock tires.

Doesn't hurt that the air in Canada is also about 20% nitrous Regardless, he has run 13.8s@101mph stock plus a video to back up.

LOL

Nah i can drive though, i have a 93 hatchback with a K20R motor. On my little *** 195/50/15 tires AVS ES 100s i pulled a 2.0 60ft and 12.7@111 and also baaack in the day, pulled a 2.1 60ft with my 2001 prelude.

Freakishly too in NJ i ran the same hatch in atco(race track over there) and pulled a 1.8 60 ft on the smae 195s and hit 12.8@102 cause i got a CEL half way through 3rd gear. LOL

I tend to bring out the best in all cars i drive.

I have spent a lot of time looking at the times of the G's here and on other boards. If you get a 6MT Sedan and can drive expect a low 14 out of it. Autos seem to run a tenth or two behind. If more than ONE person had gotten into the 13's stock, i would say that you could achieve it. However, i seriously doubt you will on street tires. No big deal though, if you want high 13's slap in a intake spacer (Motordyne seems to be the one of choice here), High Flow Cats, and get a tune and you should see traps over 100mph and high 13 sec passes. OR with just a spacer, some cool temps, and drive like a bat out of hell and you may see some 13's.

Edit: You can see in my sig that the only real known power adder i have is the spacer and am very close. That was with 2.1 60'. With a 2.0 60' and cooler weather its possible to hit high 13's with this setup.

There are two problems with threads like this.

1. It's the internet.... people lie.

2. For whatever reason "stock" means different things to different people. I say "stock" is exactly like it comes from the factory. To others, you can do weight reduction, drag radials, take out air filters, no a/c pulley, open exhaust, etc. etc.
