My car is not fast...or maybe it's just me

Went to Sacramento Raceway last night for Wednesday night "fun drags". I haven't been to the track since last October.

There were a bunch of cars there last night so I only got one "practice" run in before racing started. I won my first 3 races then red-lighted on the 4th.

My times were all in the high 14's, had one 15.0 which was embarrassing. Oh yeah, 04 G35 6MT Coupe...aftermarket 19's, no mods save for Z tube and K&N filter.

In my defense I had a passenger, plus a bunch of crap in my trunk. I went out there for fun, so I didn't expect to run all that fast. But I guess I am most disappointed in my launch, all my 60' times were in the 2.4 range which really sucks. I can't seem to get a consistent launch, tried a few things with riding the clutch etc. but seemed to spin tires every time, no matter what I tried. My RT's were the only thing that won each race for me (until I red lighted the last race).

I guess there's really no point to this post lol. Maybe my point is I suck at drag racing.

its all about practice practice. no Passenger, **** out of trunk 60ft times with 2.1-2.2 range are good for low 14s. there is no reason to be disapointed my first track day was at 14.6 and then more practice went down to 14.3 and that is without anyone in the car. I found out that a 150-200lb passenger can take off 2mph of ur et and lower the 1/4 by 0.2 second.

Kick the passenger & luggage out, get that 60 ft below 2.2, and shift as quickly as possible in a ideal cold night... you should see low 14's all day if the DA's are right.

Practice practice practice.

R/T doesn't affect your overall time though.

No she is waay too hot to kick out That's actually the biggest reason I went last night, she wanted to see what it was like to "race". At some point I plan to go by myself, take out the passenger seat and rear seat, spare, jack etc. just to see...

Understood. R/T was the only thing I had going for me in the actual bracket racing -portion of the night, since I was consistent (albeit slow) with my runs and had decent R/T's I was winning...at least until I got greedy and red-lighted.

I ran my G35 at Sacramento Raceway, the best I could do was a 14.6 with a 2.2 60 foot time.
