Question G35 vs Charger R/T

My friend is thinking about getting a charger R/T 5/7L hemi 425 hp at the crack I think. I know that is a lot more power than us at the crank. How would I do against him in the 1/4. Right now I have Xo2 exhaust and a SS kit. I'm thinking he'll beat me by 1 second to maybe a 1.3 is this in the right area? Also, I'm going to be doing 4.10 gears soon, would I beat him then..I'd think so. Thanks!

charger SRT8 will smoke u, not the R/T though. It will be a close race with the R/T.

I knew the SRT would destroy me...haha, no doubt there. With the R/T it would mostly be if I got a better reaction and 60' time then I'd probably beat him. Neither of us have raced before so we'd be on even ground pretty much.

if non of u raced before then he has the advantage since u have more work to do with ur 6MT.

I wouldent consider racing an SRT8....You will get OWNED even with bolt on mods.
If you had F/I different story

Even the R/T will have an edge on you....Its AUTO with 340HP
Unless you really know how to drive the M/T you will be in HOT SOUP haha.

Yeah, the thing I'm most worried about is shifting it too hard and breaking traction going into 2nd. Also, I know burnout is for heating tires for better traction....would line lockers be a good investment or are they not really needed?

A G with boltons and a tune runs 12s. An SRT8 weighs 4000lbs Do the math. Actually 4160

I don't know why people buy those cars... I wouldn't be able to justify buying one.

+1

The Chargers are heavy cars, and most of them are running 20" or 22" rims which only hurts them more.

I don't think it's possible for a G35 w/ only bolt ons and a tune to get into the 12's, unless the motor is built, bored, and stroked. I could be wrong though......

You will get your @$$ handed to you...The SRT-8 Charger has 425hp and 420ft lbs. of torque and they will run low 13's

umm did you ask about a line lock...they are for automatic cars bud no use in that for u.....

who knows maybe one of you will miss a gear in excitement or such...my recommendation is to not go all out until you have atleast one or two runs to find out one where the track rutts are and two how the car reacts to that track so you dont end up in a wall and have no car left

It's not an SRT8 though. It's just the R/T, I wouldn't even try it with an SRT.

I think maybe some HR's with bolt on's a tune MAY hit high 12's but my DE non rev-up never would.
