If he is stock you should win just because of the weight differences in the cars.

So the shelby has 500 bhp (see specs here) and weights almost 2 tons? Ugh.

Here's some quick napkin math for ya:
500hp x .8 (20% total pulled out @$$ driveline loss) = 400whp
GT whp / lb = 400 whp /3920lbs = 0.10204081632653061224489795918367

using edmunds specs here for 2006 g35 coupe
G35 lb/whp = 400 whp (your tt'd car) / 3472lbs = 0.11520737327188940092165898617512
(ish)

Ideally your car should have a better power to weight ratio than his. So ballpark, you *should* be able to creep away in a straight line. Now, for the fun variables: How much does he weigh? How much do you weigh? Who practices shifting? Who power shifts? How much gas is in each car? etc etc etc.

On paper, I would go with the TT'd G vs stock GT-500.

I power shift and practice it on empty back roads. I can't remember the last time I missed one and if I am racing and its close I pull away when the other guy shifts its happened more than once.

EDIT: You are a thief, i hope your turbo blows up when you try to race him :-)

I say turn up the boost...go onto a highway...beat him...flip both cars in a brilliant explosion of flames while taking out 15 other cars at the same time. Then come back on here and listen to everyone flame about racing on the highway even though the majority of people have done it. Later.
