My first thought here is the fact you did have your tranny oil changed and have not disclosed that to your Dealer. After the oil change, now you have this problem. It's the tranny oil that Firestone put in there. I would have gone back to them and confirmed if they used the right gear oil.
Second thought is...being now you have the Dealer involved, have them check the clutch pedal engagement and adjust if out of spec rather than tear into it. (But we all know that's not the problem, right? )
Just remember, only you know the fluid has been changed and now have this problem which most likely the cause.
Additionally, sounds as though they are trying to scam you with the clutch thing, but remember, you're scamming them too by trying to get another tranny oil change free and tear into your tranny under warranty. Don't you think they'll think somethings fishy when they check your oil and it's fresh looking, if they haven't already done that without telling you. They ain't that stupid and will (and probably have non verbally) called you on YOUR scam.
And may be why they want to tear into your clutch, deny warranty on that and scam YOU for some $$.
Just remember who started this game. Dealer Service departments can be scam artists and be very good at it. Being they're so good at that, don't you think they're artists at detecting when they are trying to be scammed?
Personally, I would've owned up to the fact about having the oil changed at Firestone and now have this condition.
But that's not your case, so my advice is to own up to it. Pay for another tranny oil change with the right spec'd oil and see if your tranny issue improves.
Just my .02 for the situation you've gotten yourself into.

btw...clutches are wear items like brake pads, they're not covered under warranty, especially with the mileage on your odo and clutch.

I am not playing game with dealer but if you do a serach a little bit then you will found out that there are few people that had their 30k serive done by the dealer. As soon as they done their fluid change then they experience the same thing that I have right now. That is why I took it to the dealer and have them to check it. One of the luck guy even got his tranny replace with his dealer. I just felt that tranny shouldn't react like this.

Do a little research and you will find there is a synth brand that does work with no problems, only if you really want to run synth rather than oem.
csdstudio had his tranny serviced at the Dealer, you didn't. His Dealer knew about the oil being changed, yours didn't....lol...in the beginning.
Here's a quote from your thread reference to me:

Glad your Dealer didn't tear into everything, for your sake, only to find mechanicaly nothing wrong and you ending up with a big $$ bill in your hands due to the wrong oil in there.
