Now, can a dealer install different software to update? Yes... can they get in there and tweak things and make your shifts better? No. Can anyone? Not that I have ever heard of. Should they YES!!! There is a big market for it obviously.
I still don't understand your statement, how is a reflash different than installing a software update, isn't that what the definition of a reflash?

you would need trouble with your vehicle... such as the example TSB that was posted which stems from check engine light... You can’t just go in and say, my shifts are slow or 1-2 is harsh or 3-4 is harsh... even if you did they would just do what they did for the example above which didn’t help a thing...

I am referring to having an aftermarket type of reflash/reprogram/whatever you want to call it where someone has remapped for the specific needs being addressed... no one that I have heard of has been enable to create this type of reflash/reprogram. Not even the dealer.

Man, I just checked this thing, you guys have been at it!

I'd be willing to bet you could get it reflashed by the dealer. It may cost $$$ though! Would it be worth it for harsh 1-2 shifts? Depends on how much money the person has to burn. If you asked them to do it under warranty, that's a different story.

It's possible that you can ask for a TSB reflash to be peformed if you don't have that specific problem. You might have to pay for it though. As did Dave O did with his early tcu tranny reflash request.

Yes, other than the link I've provided, there is no aftermarket reprogramming of the TCU. Hopefully the company I listed will have something for us. It says our auto is under development. But if the dealer installs new software onto the TCU, as Dave O did and what the other gentlemen did for his newer 06, they are indeed reflashing new tranny logic. Now whether that reflashing solved his particular problem is another story.

I thought the whole reason people opted for a VB upgrade was to correct precisely this problem?! (That is, aside from an actual flaw in the trans or VB)

Has anyone done a simply tranny flush with new fluid and see if that helps with harsh shifts? This has worked on both our previous hondas, the additive packages in the fluids diminishes over time, and when replaced with new fluid improves shifting harshness significantly.

Have you tried throwing it in Reverse when you're going about 30mph? Seems to do the trick for me...

it is... I've said it several times throughout the thread... but for whatever reason some people think a reflash is available to fix it.

I have - shifted the same... better now (from other things mentioned previously).
