Can a clutch get burned in a day
I have a 03 g and yesterday let my cousin drive my car for about 30 min. I have not hurt him yet because I didn't my date to see me lose my cool. He is the worse stick driver I have met. Sad thing is he freakin had a stick bmw 5 series (only for a few months and I think I know why.) Now we he came back the I could smell the burned clutch all day. He *** in starts off in 3rd for one and just can't shift. Never again.
Anyway when I was driving home I was on the highway in sixth doing about 80 step on the gas all the way and the car the rpms go up then down a little then up again. THIS NEVER USED TO HAPPEN. WTF COULD HE HAVE DONE. I MIGHT BE ON THE NEWS TODAY.
The clutch has never been changed I bought it used last in 05 but everything has been fine ever since. did i few mods exhaust intake. One more thing I put intake on the stock pipe arm thing until I get my z tube this week had it on for about a week now. Makes a sucking sound for air between 3 and 4k rpm.

I think there's a good chance your clutch is slipping... And I'd imagine that if you treat a clutch poorly enough you can ruin it very quickly.
At 16 I caused what the mechanics called "catastrophic failure" to a clutch on a 98 Mustang GT by downshifting into a gear whose RPMs were too high. I was used to my Honda which could handle such treatment- the Ford was another story.
