and my car will not let me put it into DRIVE, it is stuck in PARK until I put the little shift lock key in and put it into drive. All of these lights are currently on..has anyone ever had this happen or any ideas what the hell is goin on??

 

My BRAKE, VDC OFF, and SLIP lights also come on in the morning but I don't have the problem you do. I'm guessing some kind of sensor is out on mine.

 

check your brake fluid - your pads may need to be replaced too ??

 

How long has this been going on? This usually happens when the ECU detects excessive wheel spin...i.e. doing burnouts, or putting your car on a dyno. If it just happened, drive it for a while and they should go off. If it has been like this for a while, try resetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery overnight. If that still doesn't work...have your car serviced. I drove a 6MT coupe with this same issue, and the seller said that it just happened one day. He took it to Infiniti, and they told him there was a problem with the ECU, and that it would be covered under warranty.

 

now that I think of it my GF's G35x did that once but it seemed to be a glitch b/c after she turned the ignition off and back on it never happend again.


as far as the shifter being stuck in park I'm at a loss...

 

Thanks guys. I am headin into the dealer here in a few minutes to see what is going on. I remember it doing this a few months back while I was driving it, but then turned the ignition off and back on and the lights went off.
No idea why it isn't letting me put it into drive though...

 

Replace the 10A stop lamp fuse.

 

+1 it has to be at the MAX line, anywhere under this and it will cause the VDC, SLIP and ABS lights to go off because the ECU thinks you have a brake fluid leak.

to me about a month ago and my ABS motor or whatever it is, was making a horrible sound..(humming sound) this even stayed on when my car was off..this eventually drained my battery and had to take it in the dealer to have that abs box replaced..my car is under warranty but if it weren't I think it would have costed a couple hundred box. This box (silver) is located on the driver side upper corner.

 

I had all these lights come on when I had used up all my brake pads. After a brake job, they went out

 

I had similar problem with the Slip and VDC off light on. My couldn't get my car to move past 10 mph. I tried checked fluid and dc'd the battery but the light stayed on. I finally just tried turned on the parking brake and the lights went out and my car drove like normal.

 

Someone solve this yet? I cant get my car out of PARK, shifter is stuck!!1
