I was thinking of buying a MT 06 g coupe ,but after reading about so many MT owners(even with low mileage) having problems with there transmissions , I'm having second thoughts ??.... Seems to me even the 06 model is having problems ???

I don't think there are as many issues as people think. I've noticed that these transmissions (nearly all the 6mts) are noisy and people thing something is wrong when tehre really isn't. Mine makes strange noises since the day it came off the lot and it's still working great 40k miles later and now with boost.]

I think unless you're proficient with manual trannies you should go for an auto. I bet most of the busted trannies are caused by user error...you can't really *** up an auto.

So I was told by a Sears mechanic when I attempted to take my previous car to them for this service, and since I had approx. 75k miles on it, they said they couldn't.

That said, and assuming the theory of being more of a damage factor as opposed to a benefit factor, what can we do after the 50k miles with regards to preventive maintenance for AT?
...not true according to the Infiniti mtce schedule.
Or on any other car I've owned.

My wife's Escape is over 250K km & has had the tranny fluid changed every 50K.
...it's still running like a champ.
