I was driving down HWY 75 today to ATL coming up on Chatt, TN exit. I was in normal drive mode going around 70 mph then shifted over to 5th. Gear did not engage. Pressed gas pedal but the car didn't respond. Engine revved up to 5000 rpm but no other response. Immediately pulled over...more like coasted across 4 lanes...then tried to shift back over to normal. Gear still would not engage. I turned the car off, tried to shift...nothing. Could not pull the keys out either. I also tired to reset the "gear lock" but still no action. Finally had to get it towed to a dealership. The car is 2004 with only 49k. Any suggestions? Seems like the transmission...but did not see any leaks...just had it serviced.
