When switching from Park to Drive..

When switching from Park to Drive

the car kicks back slightly


is this normal?

I would say yes, remember you are going from Park to Reverse to neutral to drive.
If you slam it into drive the transmission doesn't really have a chance to shift properly.

but it also happens when going from Park to Reverse
the car makes a back and forth jerk

the jerk is more intense from park to reverse then it is from park to drive

im gonna take it in thursday, its still under warranty

F*** do i know lol im out of warranty. i think its normal , i mean ya it feels rough , but i dont think its that rough ?

If your foot is on the brake, there should be no jerking or movement anywhere.

ok it is normal when you put your car into park a pin locks your tranny into place. esp if you are parked on a incline/decline the car will shift and put pressure onto the locking pin causing difficulty shifting out of park and/or a slight jerk.
