Clutch Delay Spring Removal
#31
Just did this mod on my 07G.. i was kinda skeptical at first about how much of a difference it would really make. the removal took me about an hour and i took it for a couple laps around the block.. Like has been said before...WOW!!...its alittle tighter up top and i adjusted my cruse control sensor just about a turn and a half to get rid of the play.. the difference in transition between gears now is much smoother and i have SOOOO Much more control...i love it...a must do for any G..

Thanks so much for posting this. 100% better clutch feel. It's funny, after I took the spring out I set it aside thinking, "You may need to put this back in if it doesn't work, so dont forget where you put it." Well, after taking it for a test drive I think I'll throw that spring away so I never have to see it again, LOL.
Thanks! The car is so much more enjoyable to drive now.

please help
I have an 05 coupe and it's what I learned stick on, I got it about 6 months ago and the point where the clutch grabs is way at the top of the pedal, I mean you push it in half an inch and it's fully disengaged it's ridiculous. I can't feel the point where it grabs so that's why I want to do this spring removal but the pictures are not working for me, I can't open them. Can someone please post some pics on what to do and where to find this spring so I can remove it? Ive looked everywhere and I can't find anywhere that shows how to take this darn thing out. Thanks guys

2nd: I 100% advocate for the removal of this spring. Its 100% useless and will improve your driving experience.
3rd: I don't think this will fix the problem you are experiencing. I believe you need to drain and flush your clutch hydraulics system. The fluid in our cars gets baked and goes bad, which could be causing the mushiness and short engagement you are experiencing. I'd suggest removing the spring first, then asking a good shop to flush and refill your clutch hydraulics system with DOT 3 or 4 fluid (same as brake fluid). If you want to do this yourself, just make sure you are confident you can bleed the system of all air, otherwise you may make your problem worse. You could follow the instructions here, but I have NOT had success with them: https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...ange-pics.html

Thanks so much man, yeah the other day when I posted this, I went and looked at the clutch assembly and decided to just wing it and see if I could get it out without any pictures guiding me. I removed the assembly and all that and got the spring out. And there was also a tiny black spring there too but I figured it was the bigger one, so I took the big one out and thankfully I was right lol, and I put everything back together and it definitely made it easier to feel where it's going to grab. There's no chance I'll ever put that spring back in lol, and as for my clutch fluid, in the reservor It's very brown and nasty looking so I think you're right. I think I might just take it to a good shop to drain and put fresh fluid in for me, I don't want to chance making it worse like you said. Hopefully that will help my catch point on my clutch because it is ridiculous how high it grabs. I've struggled with it since the day I got it. I lowered the pedal using the rod and twisting it farther into the fork and my clutch pedal I'm not even kidding you is slightly lower than my brake and I know everyone says not to have it that low because it won't be fully disengaged, but I've had it like this for a while now and it still grabs a half inch pushing it in. I've had other g drivers drive my car and feel where it grabs and they were stunned on how high it is lol so I hope the fresh fluid will help me out

Put it back up before you do the fluid flush. If it fixes your problem, it may be impossible for the shop to shift the car until you get the chance to adjust the pedal.
