Its time for 3.5 or 3.6 rear gearing !!!
Wrong, the speedometer will be affected. My speedometer reads 90mph when I'm actually doing 80mph, and my CC has worked every time.
Whoever has install questions:

This thread is only going to confuse ppl.
I just want to kno if its a big jump from 3.3? My uncle owns a great shop in NY he did a skyline conversion ill let him take care of the fitment!!
Interesting, now I'm curious to see what all is affected on which models.
On an 06 5AT, I've verified that 3.7 gears affected only my speedometer accuracy.
I agree. I think compiling a list of which gears has what affect, if any, on which models would help.

Until he opened the hood I was like
but then I saw the motor and was like
How can so much fail and so much win exist in the same car???????
There are people that have lost CC with 3.5 swap and there are people that have lost CC with the 3.7 swap. It's really hit or miss. Sometimes people report that the CC works interminently below 80mph and others report no issue at all. It's really the luck of the draw I guess. A simple search of the terms "cruise control", "lost", and "pumpkin" will result in a handful of threads dating back to 2006 where people were reporting their experiences with the swap and the effect on CC. I'm not making this stuff up and the OP should be aware there's the possibility that he may loose CC if he goes with a deeper FD especially the 3.7.
What size tires are you running?
It's far easier and cheaper to go find a pumpkin with the 3.54 or 3.69 gear sets and swap them in rather than actually pulling out the old gear and pinion. I did my 3.54 vlsd swap in my driveway in about 3 hours. The pumpkin cost $320 from a local recycler. It's one of my favorite mods. IMO, the 3.54 gear seat is the way to go for daily driving and MPG. The 3.69 gear is a bit aggressive and on your 03, you'll loose cruise control.
Dave..quick question. Anyone else who has some insight I'd appreciate your input.
I didn't read the whole thread so maybe this was covered. Ever since my 6MT conversion was done, my CC has not worked. I was under the impression this is because the 5AT TCU is gone. But now it leads me to believe it's because I stuck with the 3.3 gears and with all the manual parts now (drive shaft for one) would this cause my cruise control to fail? Anyone have any insight on this?
