Hey guys, hoping I could get some pointers regarding a noise i’m hearing from my 6MT or clutch. I’ve tried to look through forums but haven’t found anything the properly explains my situation. The noise i’m getting happens mainly in 1st and 2nd gear and it sounds a lot like the noise you hear when a manual transmission grabs the reverse gear, but it happens over and over again. This noise happens in instances when i’m in low rpm in second gear and I let off the gas the noise happens in sync with the normal “bouncing” a manual transmission does when you do said action, it will also happen if i’m rolling to a stop and go into second to start moving again as opposed to coming to a complete stop and going into first. I will also hear the noise if I don’t entirely smoothly get the car rolling in first. Lastly, say I slow down to about 40 in 5th gear if I don’t drop to 4th to accelerate and stay in 5th Instead I will hear the noise, I will also hear the same rocking/grinding noise if I turn the car off WITHOUT the clutch pressed in, if I turn the car off with the clutch pressed in I don’t hear the noise. This noise is also associated with a whining noise moving up through low rpms in 1st and 2nd. What do you guys think? This noise has been a thing since they day I got this car a year and a half ago and I wanted to mention that I did learn to drive manual in this car via youtube university so I wouldn’t be surprised if I added to the already existent issue.
